It is no secret that pigs are born without wings, but that doesn’t stop Peter from achieving his dream to fly. After an unfortunate accident, Peter realizes he needs more than a tall tree to really take flight. With the help of his new pal, Olivia, the two learn the importance of friendship and what it truly means to build your own wings.
For her first publication, Shay Renée chose her favorite animal as the main character in her story about adventure and courage. She grew up in Vacaville and attended community college in Folsom. It was there where she decided her imagination and creative story telling was built for more than the margins of her lecture notes. After graduating from CSULA with a Bachelors in English, Shay wrote and published Peter’s Flight. In addition to her experience working with children in Theatre Arts, she has also spent many summers volunteering with cancer patients and their families at Camp OKIZU. It is with the eyes and minds of her younger relatives where she finds the most inspiration for her Children’s Literature. Shay Renée currently lives in Los Angeles with her bulldog, Ophelia. Her memoir is set to be released in December, 2020.
